About the Artist — Dorothea Vincent

I’m Dorothea Vincent, a photographer and artist whose work is rooted in curiosity, connection, and the quiet beauty found in everyday life. I'm a wife, a mother, and a grandma. My life in Grandview, TN is topped off by three furry rescues - one dog and two cats.

I began my creative journey photographing landscapes, architecture, and the natural world with black & white film.  They were the scenes that taught me about  observation and the art of seeing beyond the obvious. 

Over time, that same instinct for authenticity drew me toward the study of portrait photography. My portrait style lives somewhere between relaxed classic and a contemporary vibe.  

I believe in keeping things natural, allowing space for expression, personality, and the nuances that keeps it fun, yet unmistakably authentic. 

To me, portraits are timeless pieces, our legacy. The value of a photograph is priceless, it's what will remain, to be passed down after we have gone.  My photographs honor your identity, they document the bond of the family, and captures the moments in this of time your life.

In addition to photography, I love to paint with acrylics and watercolors. I’m especially drawn to the gentle whimsy of folk-inspired animal portraits.  Each painting, like each portrait, is rooted in character and storytelling.
